Essential Oils – Methodsof Use


Aromatherapy Burner
Aromatherapy Burner:
For mood enhancement and upliftment, fill the bowl with water, add 5-15 drops of essential oil, light the candle and inhale.


Steam inhalation
Steam inhalation
Add 3 drops of essential oil blend to a bowl of warm water and inhale for around 10 minutes. Care should be taken to prevent any burns from hot water or steam.


Quick inhalation
Quick inhalation
Place 3-4 drops of essential oil on a tissue, place it under the nose and inhale directly. this method is recommended for and instant offect.


Pillow

For a better sleep, put 4 drops of essential oil on a cotton pad and tuck it under the pillow case.


Vaporizer
Vaporizer
An effective method of use with a sick child. Add 10 drops of chosen essential oil to water, run overnight.


Compress
Compress
Useful to allow essential oil to penetrate in a particular area of the body. MIx 5 drops of essential oil(s) and 1 tablespoon salt in a empty bowl. Fill bowl with hot or cold water, soak a piece of cloth, wring it out and cover the affected area. Repeat this process for 5 to 15 minutes, as needed.


Bath
Baths
This is one of the most important and effective forms of treatment in aromatherapy. Fill a bath with warm water, add 1/4 cup of Andean Bath Soak of your choice and feel all your tensions melt away! You can also mix a total of 10 drops of essential oil with 1/cup of unscented salt and add it to the bath water. THE FOLLOWING OILS MAY BE IRRITANT IN THE BATH: Memoria, Claro Essential Oil, Basil, Cinnamon, Fennel, Ginger, Orange, Peppermint.



Gargles
In an empty glass put ½ teaspoon sea salt and dilute 5 drops of essential oil. Add the juice of one lemon and ½ cup warm water. Stir well, gargle and spit it out. DO NOT SWALLOW.


Footbath
Footbaths
Essential oils are rapidly absorbed by the skin on the soles of feel. Fill a foot pan with warm water, add 1 tablespoon of Andean Bath Soak of choice, and immerse feet up to the ankles in this water for 20 minutes before going to bed. Alternatively, mix a total of 10 drops of essential oil with 1 teaspoon of sea salt and add it to the water.


Sitzbaths

Mix 4 drops of essential oil or oil blend with 1 teaspoon of sea salt. Run a bath with warm (no hot) water to the level of hips, add the salt/essential oil mixture and sit in it for 10 minutes.


Massage
Massage with Therapeutic Carrier Oil
Combine 3 drops of essential oil with 1 teaspoon of carrier oil and massage the affected areas.
